Late last night while watching the 11pm news I saw a clip with a Canadian recording artist who has been getting ALOT of great press since the release of his smash World Cup 2010 Soccer Anthem “Wavin’ flag”. Initially it was difficult to put my finger on what exactly it was about the song that got to me, however after watching the videos of this artist named K’naan on You Tube, seeing his performance, and watching his interview it all suddenly struck me what it was about this song, that hit me like a “slap across the face”.
